Delusion

Known for its innovative blend of immersive theater and horror, Delusion has previously taken participants on thrilling journeys through a Victorian mansion and a futuristic, Blade Runner-inspired bounty hunt. This year, the acclaimed interactive horror event returns in a new and chilling location—a 133-year-old castle near USC.

Set to unfold within the historic Stimson House, a striking red brick mansion built in 1891 in University Park, Delusion promises a haunting experience like no other. The 2024 edition, titled “The Red Castle,” invites guests to step into the shoes of a possibly superpowered asylum patient under the care of a deranged psychologist bent on resurrecting his deceased wife. This narrative-driven event combines the intensity of a walk-through haunted house with the depth of immersive theater, offering a unique and unsettling experience.

Created by director and action coordinator Jon Braver, who first introduced Delusion in 2011, this year’s production continues his collaboration with the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride team, Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group. The event features a “choose your path” format, where the decisions you make will influence the story’s direction, making each experience uniquely personal.

While ticket details have yet to be announced, last year’s pricing started at $90, and this year will include a VIP tier that offers an even more immersive experience, including a role in the performance and access to an exclusive bar. The Red Castle will open on September 20 and run through November 3, just past Halloween, promising a truly unforgettable and spine-chilling adventure.
