One Day at a Time Table Read Fundraiser
The beloved Alvarez family from One Day at a Time is making a special return! The cast and executive producers will reunite for a unique charity table read on Saturday, October 5, at 2:00 PM at the Saban Media Center in North Hollywood. Fans will have the rare opportunity to experience never-before-seen scripts from season four, including what would have been the series finale. The event is being produced by former producer Sandi Hochman along with executive producers Gloria Calderón Kellett, Mike Royce, and Brent Miller. All proceeds will benefit the People For The American Way Foundation, an organization founded by Norman Lear dedicated to defending American freedoms.
Co-showrunners and executive producers, Gloria Calderón Kellett and Mike Royce, expressed their excitement about the event, saying, “Bringing our cast together to perform these unaired episodes, including the series finale, is a beautiful tribute to Norman Lear’s incredible legacy. We feel privileged to have brought this Latine family to life on screen, and this event is a way to reconnect with our amazing fans while supporting a cause that’s close to our hearts, People For The American Way Foundation.”
Svante Myrick, President of the People For The American Way Foundation, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “Norman Lear’s shows brilliantly showcased the diversity of families and ensured that all Americans, regardless of their background, were portrayed with respect and dignity. We are so thankful to the producers and cast of One Day at a Time for helping us carry on his mission of defending democracy and equality for all.”
The table read will feature the full cast, including:

Gloria Calderón Kellett will also serve as the narrator, reading stage directions. The table read will include the following episodes from season four:
- “Church and Statement” by Sebastian Jones
- “Best Birthday” by Vincent Brown & Dan Signer
- The series finale, “Dreams,” by Sebastian Jones & Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz
The event will take place at the Wolf Theater within the Saban Media Center, located at 5210 Lankershim Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91601. The reading is expected to last for approximately two hours.
Tickets are available in two tiers:
- Preferred Seating (rows A-L): $80.00 (fees included)
- Standard Seating (rows M-V): $70.00 (fees included)

All proceeds will go to support the People For The American Way Foundation, a progressive advocacy organization that has been working for over four decades to defend freedom, justice, and democracy for all Americans.
