Following the screening, a Q&A and panel discussion will feature leading voices in death and dying practices.

About the Film
Architecture of Death: The Inner World of Dying seeks to answer pressing questions about the dying process, addressing the physical and unseen dimensions of life’s final stage. This film delves into themes like the role shifts within families, opportunities for healing, deathbed visions, and last messages. Through stories and insights from experts such as Sue Brayne, Dr. Paige Moorehouse, Dr. Penny Sartori, and others, Johanna Lunn provides a sensitive, in-depth view of dying that encourages viewers to reconsider death as an integral part of life.

Panelists

  • Johanna Lunn: An award-winning director and producer, Lunn has spent her career exploring themes of death and dying. Inspired by personal experiences with loss, she hopes to create greater cultural acceptance of death.
  • Olivia Bareham: Founder of Sacred Crossings and a Death Midwife, Olivia trains individuals in death doula and midwifery practices. Her work includes support for families and individuals in conscious dying and after-death care.
  • Nancy Philpott: A Registered Nurse and founder of HeartSync™ Wellness Center, Nancy specializes in Compassion Fatigue recovery for caregivers and health professionals and shares her experiences to improve end-of-life care.
  • Diane Hullet (Moderator): Founder of Best Life Best Death, Diane is a death doula and podcast host, offering compassionate end-of-life education and guidance.
