The 43rd Los Angeles Lotus Festival is set to honor the vibrant people and rich cultures of the Philippines, spotlighting the Kapampangan tradition of Ligligan Parol, or the Giant Lantern Festival. This cherished annual event, celebrated during the nine-day Christmas Novena, features the Parol—a lantern symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness, embodying joy and hope. In the Philippines, these traditional ornamental lanterns light up streets, homes, malls, and buildings.
The Lights of Dreams Festival is our unique adaptation of the Giant Lantern Festival, showcasing stunning rice paper lanterns and custom-made lotus lanterns. In various Asian cultures, illuminated paper lanterns symbolize hope for a brighter future, appreciation for loved ones, and remembrance of those who have passed away. Lotus lanterns, in particular, represent rebirth, purity, and life.
Throughout the festival, we aim to create an unforgettable experience that brings families and friends together to celebrate life’s meaning while spreading hope, peace, and dreams. Join us in this luminous celebration as we illuminate the night with beautiful lanterns, each carrying a message of love, hope, and renewal.
